British sculptor Charles Elliott and his wife professional showjumper Abbe Elliott have worked together to further their NEW luxury equestrian sculpture range. Initially working on a simplistic horse sculpture, Charles has now pushed his skills and knowledge further to a NEW race horse sculpture as well as a NEW Polo Pony sculpture, both complete with tack and rider. Both pieces have a vast amount of detail and movement, this is created using a 8mm round material with a natural curving style. Handcrafted in their Buckinghamshire studio using traditional blacksmithing and modern metal manipulating techniques.
With help and guidance on the designs, Charles and his wife Abbe have designed and created a small range of full size horse sculptures from steel. Their NEW Equestrian Sculptures are inspired by his wife’s love of horses, each Sculpture in the range is completely unique and built by hand in Buckinghamshire. Their NEW Horse Sculptures can been seen online at www.elliottoflondon.co.uk or at their Buckinghamshire Studio in The Vale, HP5 3NZ
Alongside traveling the world jumping her string of horses professionally, Abbe has a lot of input into Charles’s design and building process of their NEW equestrian pieces specifically.
Charles says, “We decided we wanted to push our boundaries further by investigating into specific disciplines, we wanted to target individual aspects of the international equestrian world. My wife Abbe helps tremendously with details of muscle layouts and conformation, whilst we look through piles of close ups of horses in motion. She is very critical of our work and a perfectionist when it comes to the horses, whether it be in art or in real life!”
Charles has spends months, sometimes years, working on each of his pieces and they were both very pleased at the response of its unveiling on their website and on Facebook. Abbe, who has just returned from jumping in Belgium, always finds time to call Charles at the Buckinghamshire studio to find out on progress of the NEW sculptures and is always promoting them to fellow show jumpers and equestrian enthusiasts at the shows nationally and internationally.
Elliott of London Sculptures are available internationally, with transport shipping and installation services available worldwide. With interest and enquiries from New Zealand US and Europe already, the initial unveiling of these one off pieces look to be a great success for The Elliott’s and their team.
5% of Sale Price of Horse Racing Sculpture will be donated to the Injured Jockey Fund – Charles Elliott “My grandfather was a racing enthusiast, when not working in London he travelled nationally to watch his favourite horses run. He always had great respect for the jockeys and their riding skills. He donated to the Injured Jockey Fund regularly, buying their merchandise and Christmas cards every year. He passed many years ago, but I wanted to follow his lead and thought a Race Horse Sculpture would be a fantastic opportunity to promote the Injured Jockey Fund cause.” With Horse Racing Industry growing so quickly, this piece is a tribute to the vast achievements of famous jockeys who has gone before. The skills and determination of each amateur and professional jockey through the years. Charles, like his grandfather enjoys horse racing, and tries his best to visit local courses like Windsor with his wife when he can.
